Who We Are

We are a partnership of five academic, governmental and private non-profit organizations that seek to develop predictive modeling capabilities for the circulation and ecosystem of Puget Sound, Washington. Our goals are to:

  • Maintain and operate a system of flexibly linked simulation models and a data management system for archiving and exchanging oceanographic data and model results;
  • Share resources among members of the partnerships as well as with the regional and oceanographic community for research, education, and policy formulation;
  • Engage in research activities to develop fundamental understanding of the Sound’s working, as well as to address practical questions concerning management of the Sound and its resources.

The partnership is an estuarine research node within the Ocean Information Commons proposed by the National Oceanographic Partnership Program.
